Show Notes: https://SuccessMotivationInspiration.com/brian-winch

I love hearing stories of entrepreneurs who created their own opportunities. I’m excited to have a conversation today with Brian Winch. For over 30 years Brian has been earning a 6-figure income from what amounts to going for a walk each night. Now, he’s teaching aspiring entrepreneurs to do the same thing! If you’re looking for inspiration in starting your own small business, listen to this episode where I interview Brian Winch, founder of Cleanlots!

Below are some insights from Brian Winch. Enjoy!

What is your personal definition of success?

Being able to provide for yourself, and any loved ones, through self-employment or passion.

Can you share the steps you take daily to improve?

Keep moving forward :
1. Respond to customer issues – provide value
2. Provide free support – help others get what they want
3. Learn something new
4. Provide service as best as I can – can I do better?

What is your advice for someone making an important decision?

What is your “gut” feeling? Investigate further then act accordingly.

Tell me about a specific moment that set you on the path you’re on now?

I was 21 years old (in 1981) working a full-time job and wanting to become self-employed. My dad had recently passed away. He was a school janitor who “moonlighted” doing various odd jobs such as cutting grass and shoveling snow. He also cleaned up litter outside a nearby shopping plaza. I didn’t go to college, have much money or skills, but inherited my dad’s work ethic. I decided to start a parking lot litter cleaning business, to honor my father’s legacy, and see how successful it would become.
