What is your definition of success?

My definition of success is never giving up! I say that because if you’re willing to “grind it out until you make it out”, then success is inevitable. Never tell yourself what you “can’t” do. I always kept an “If you can do it, then I can do it!” attitude about life. If I see you doing something, I feel I can do it as well. If I can’t, then the education and answers are only a Google search or YouTube video away.

When did you consider yourself a success?

I considered myself a success the day I was able to walk away from my past 100% and make my money “legit”. Never again would I have to look over my shoulder, wondering when or if the door was going to get kicked in. The second time I felt successful was when I made my first $100k from marketing online. It feels good to work from home and make that kind of money. I spend all the time in the world with family, don’t miss important moments in life, and set my own work hours. There’s nothing like it!

What steps do you take daily to improve?

I try and do to others how I want them to do for me. That’s why I put my number out there on everything I market. You will never see me hiding behind a capture page or website with no real way to get in touch. I do my best to answer every call that comes through my phone, no matter the time of day. I also try to outdo myself at every turn. I’m a perfectionist and my own worst critic. I start my day early and end my nights late. I’m usually up no later than 6 or 7 AM, and that’s pretty late for me. I find early mornings and late nights are the best time to work.

What have you recognized as your greatest strengths, and how have they impacted your success?

People say “Jack of All Trades, Master of None,” but my life has always been the opposite. I succeed at everything that I put my mind and heart into. I also have a “failure is not an option” attitude when I’m involved in; work or a project. This has been my greatest strength by far.

Tell me about a weakness or personal character flaw, and what you’re doing to overcome it?

I would say a character flaw would be not feeling like I could be wrong. I feel like I’m always right (because most of the time I am!), so that makes me think I always have the correct answers even when I don’t. That’s a weakness I’m working on.

How do you make important decisions?

I make important decisions in a quiet place with only my thoughts and no distractions. I think everything out to a “T” and try to be very calculating.

Was there a pivotal moment that set you on the path to where you are now?

Yes, going to prison and doing time for four years. I knew it wasn’t a place for me. I knew I was too intelligent to be wasting away in the land of the forgotten and misfortunate. I told myself sitting in that cold cell that I refused to be a statistic. I would change my life for the better when I got out. Another pivotal moment was when my mother passed away, out of the blue, at 57. It was only three days after her birthday. I came from a single-parent household but always had a strong mother who gave me her best. I always wanted to do the same for her. I hate that I never really got that chance. She’s the driving force in my life, and I just want to make her proud.

Are there any books you’ve read more than once? Why?

Yep, there are quite a few. “Embraced By The Light” is a story about a female that had a near-death experience. She said she went to heaven and came back. I love that book because I believe in stuff like that. Reading that book answered so many questions I’ve always had about the meaning of life. I highly recommend it.

Tell me about a difficult commitment you’ve made, and would you make it again?

A difficult commitment I once made was doing wrong for the right reasons. I use to “hustle” when I was younger to help my single mother, brothers, and sister. I did what I had to do to survive and help out. Ultimately I got into a lot of trouble because of it. My commitment was to my family, regardless of the outcome. Even though it was a negative result, yes, I would do it again!

What character traits do you value most in others?

Honesty and loyalty, in that order. If I can’t trust you, then I can’t be around you. I was taught that if you’d lie, then you’d steal. Both go hand in hand. I have no time for either a liar nor a thief.

How do you push through your worst times?

I stay focused and keeping my eyes on the prize. I try not to let negative energy in. I’m a very positive person and believe in karma, so I try to keep my energy pure. I do my best to refrain from negative thinking. Your words become your reality, so I do my best to speak life.

What keeps you awake at night?

Money! Really though, it does keep me up because my phone is ringing at all hours.

What inspires you?

Money! Seriously, what inspires me is living in abundance without stress and struggles. Yes, I know life isn’t perfect. All of us will have to go through our trials and tribulations. But stressing over where the next meal is gonna come from or trading hours for dollars only to still not have enough to make ends meet is no way to live! Being able to take care of myself and my loved ones is what truly inspires me.

How do you manage and prioritize opportunities?

I use a whiteboard and write down all my goals for the day and month. I prioritize and list them. I make a note of the most important things I need to get done. I make deadlines for myself and try to see them through. Most of the time, I push it right to the wire, but I always get it done!

What advice would you give to your 18-year-old self?

I’d say, “work smarter, not harder. There’s a better way. Learn everything you can about the internet and start a YouTube channel as soon as it launches. Trust me, you’ll thank me later!” I would also tell myself, “The streets ain’t it. You’re smart enough to create something bigger than you ever imagined or thought possible, but first, you have to focus, put a plan and idea together, and make it happen.”
